About
Me
I'm wesley.
If I'm not spending my time working on my calligraphy, then I'm
probably listening to audiobooks or singing along to Chinese oldies
Check out my calligraphy on Instagram @artsofvisuallyimpaired!
A Little About My Condition
-
Glaucoma
An inherited condition that showed up later in my life causing a built up pressure inside which worsened my optic nerves
Right Now,
I'm fully blind on my right eye and only have 40% of vision on my left. (Imagine a circle cut into 4 quadrants, and I can only see a hazed vision of my bottom left)
I can tell if a plant is growing well or dying by touching it!
#1 Secret Talent:
Three Talents of Mine?

Discipline
Usually after work, I set aside
two hours to practice my calligraphy strokes. But if I'm tired, I will get up at
4 a.m. the next morning to continue training before work at 6 a.m.
Hardworking
At the start, I accidentally painted the table instead of paper. That experience made me regret joining calligraphy. Eventually, I overcame it.
There are moments when I still blunder...
but it's during those times when I need to work harder to perfect my skills
Chinese Calligraphy
Calligraphy was just a challenge to show that visually impaired people are equally capable, which I gave it a shot. Since then, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. I'm even working towards becoming a professional painter!
What Do I Do In My Free Time?

Audiobooks
My favourite genres are centered around a "Futuristic" world because
it reminds me that no matter how advanced we become, we have
to remember our roots
Singing
I enjoy singing Chinese oldies like Jacky Cheung in my free time. To the point where I've even performed in a show like "Concert in the Dark" before
Chinese Calligraphy
I've enrolled into schools NAFA. Currently, I'm studying at LASALLE, under the mentorship of a prestigious calligraphy expert! One day I hope to have my solo exhibition
#2 Secret Talent:
Most people say that my voice is soothing enough to be a DJ host!
